Dec. 13, 1951-Oct. 14, 2014

Warren Baker Henderson Sr., 62, Goldsboro, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 14, 2014, at Wayne Memorial Hospital.

He was born in Wake County Dec. 13, 1951, to Elizabeth Baker Henderson and the late Joe Kent Henderson.

A native of Wendell, N.C., Warren graduated from Vaden Whitley High School, and attended Radio Broadcasting School in Atlanta, Ga.

He loved radio, starting as a personality disc jockey at WYNG Radio in the 1970s, then moving on to executive account sales, where he retired working with Beasley Broadcast Inc.

Warren's love was his family, friends, talking to people and his clients, radio sports broadcasting of high school football games, master of ceremonies for the Crime Stoppers telethon, master of ceremonies for Grantham Fire Department's annual reverse drawing and being past president and a member of the Goldsboro Jaycees for many years.

Most of all, Warren loved and cherished being "Pop" to his granddaughters, Reese and Lily. His smile and kind gentle personality will always be fond memories. He never met a person he did not like. He was loved by all.

He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Gloria Andrews Henderson of Goldsboro; his twins, Baker Henderson of Charlotte and Celeste Henderson Walker and husband, Jim, of Wilmington; two granddaughters, Reese and Lily Walker of Wilmington; his mother, Elizabeth B. Henderson of Wendell; three brothers, Kent Henderson and wife, Pam, of Zebulon, David Henderson and wife, Theresa, of Wendell, Steve Henderson and wife, Shawn, of Asheville; sister, Christine Henderson Barker and husband, Ashley, of Greenville; seven nieces and nephews; a great-niece; and a great-nephew.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his special longtime friend, Woody Johnson of Florida.

The family sends its heartfelt appreciation to Dr. Richard Bedlack, Dr. Candice Boyette and the Duke Team for ALS "Lou Gehrig" Disease Center for their kindness and compassionate care for Warren and our family.

The family would also like to offer special thanks to the team at Home Health and Hospice and Bobby Tann with Services on Aging.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 17, 2014, at Seymour Funeral Home, followed by a service celebrating Warren's life at 7 p.m. in the chapel of Seymour Funeral Home.
