Kenneth Wilson Rouse, 76, Liddell community, Seven Springs, passed away Saturday, Oct. 11, 2014.
Kenneth was born June 7, 1938, to the late Woodrow Wilson Rouse and Beatrice Adams Rouse.
Kenneth lived a life of dedication to his family, friends and community. He was adored by his family, for whom he was a source of joy and strength, but also by countless others, all of whom were struck by his quiet generosity along with his kind and unassuming intelligence.
He cherished his wife, and was a role model to his children.
Qualities that describe Kenneth are hard-working, fair, honest and generous. He was always willing to help, and would give anyone the shirt off his back.
Kenneth loved the land and the life of the farmer. He took great pride in his crops and livestock.
In 2010, Kenneth was baptized at Daly's Chapel Free Will Baptist Church, a proud moment for him and his family.
A service of remembrance will be held Friday, Oct. 17, 2014, at 11 a.m. at Rouse Funeral Home, with the Rev. George Futrelle and the Rev. Todd Sutton officiating. Interment will follow on the Rouse family farm.
Kenneth is survived by his wife of 48 years, Doris Ann Rouse; two sons, Kent Rouse and wife, Tanya, and Greg Rouse and wife, Amy; four grandchildren, Sienna, Natalie, Aden and Anderson; stepgrandson, T.J. McDaniel; brother, John Rouse; sister; Judith Sutton; along with a special young man, who was thought of as one of the family, Jeremy Price.
The family will receive friends Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Rouse Funeral Home, and at other times, the family will be at the home.
