Christopher Riley Smith, 19, Goldsboro, passed away suddenly Wednesday, Oct. 8, 2014.
Riley was born in Wayne County April 15, 1995, to Christopher Eugene Smith of Goldsboro and Chari Lee Smith of Florida.
He was a graduate of Eastern Wayne High School, and was currently working at Texas Roadhouse in Goldsboro.
Those of us who knew Riley weep at our loss, laugh with our remembrances and reflect deeply on how much he meant to us. He made the world a better place.
A memorial service remembering Riley's life will be held at 6 p.m. Saturday, Oct.11, 2014, in the chapel of Seymour Funeral Home, with the Rev. Jackie Ham officiating.
The family will greet friends following the service at Seymour Funeral Home and other times at the home of Dolly Bass.
In addition to his parents, Riley is survived by his sister, Christal Howell and husband, Charlie, and their son, Liam Howell; sister, Cierra Smith; grandparents, Dolly Bass, Gerald Smith and Dana and Donna Kinney; great-grandparents, Mack and Betty Jo Bass; and several aunts, uncles and cousins whom he loved very much.
Riley was preceded in death by his uncle, Bill Vaughn III; grandfather, James Brewer; and great-grandparents, Sarah Anderson and Riley and Luellen Smith.
