DONNA LYNN VANDERHOEF

May 7, 1964-Sept. 21, 2014

Donna Lynn Vanderhoef, 50, Goldsboro, passed away Sunday, Sept. 21, 2014, at Rex Healthcare Center.

Donna was born in Val Dosta, Ga., May 7, 1964, to Don Lyle Vanderhoef and Jean Causey.

She had worked as a sales associate with Friendly Mart in Seven Springs.

Donna had a great love for crafts, knitting, birds and horses.

She will be remembered by many for her love of life and its varied possibilities.

She spent many years helping people and animals in need, often sacrificing her own needs so that others could live better. There are many cherished animals that were given homes because of her care and concern for their welfare.

The family will gather for a service of remembrance at 5 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 27, 2014, at Seymour Funeral Home, with James West officiating, and will remain until 7 p.m. to greet family and friends.

Donna is survived by her mother, Jean C. West and her husband, Milton, of Goldsboro; father, Don Lyle Vanerhoef and wife, Katie, of Panama City, Fla.; sister, Sonya Jean Davis of Orlando, Fla.; niece, Madison Davis of the University of South Florida, Tampa, Fla.; stepsister, Margaret "Margo" Lewis; stepbrothers, James R. West, Mathew W. West and Tommy G. West and families; uncle and aunt, Dan and Kathy Causey; and stepgrandmother, Jean S. West.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be given to the Wayne County Animal Shelter, P.O. Box 821, Goldsboro, N.C., 27533.

With loving gratitude, we thank the doctors and nursing staff at Rex Health Care.

Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.seymourfuneralhome.com.
