DONALD J. EVANS

May 27, 1957-Sept. 5, 2014

Donald Jackson Evans, 57, passed away suddenly Friday, Sept. 5, 2014 surrounded by his family.

Born in Wayne County May 27, 1957, he was the son of Carol Sauls Evans of Pikeville and the late William Jackson Evans.

Donald was a very strong believer in Jesus Christ, and was a lifetime member of Patetown Church of God. He felt that nothing was impossible when you place your trust in God. His faith gave him the courage to face anything in life.

He was also a man of many talents, from being a brilliant multi-level marketer, being passionate about cooking for everyone as he owned and operated Crossroads Cafe and having the ability to close any "deal."

Donald was gregarious, larger than life, and every life he touched he changed. Most important to Donald was his family.

A service celebrating Donald's life will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 9, 2014, at Patetown Church of God, with the Rev. Marvin Wiggins, the Rev. Wade Easom and the Rev. Roy Park officiating. Interment will be Wednesday, Sept. 10, 2014, at 10 a.m. at Eureka Cemetery.

In addition to his mother, Donald is survived by his wife, Susan Evans of Pikeville; two sons, Dustin Evans and wife, Jenifer, and Don Ross Evans of Pikeville; stepdaughter, Alyssa Odell; grandchildren, Haley Evans, Kayla Evans, Ali Weaver and Savannah Evans; stepgrandson, David Brumley; and a sister and brother-in-law, Rhonda and Keith Easom of Wilson and their daughter, Lauren Jones and husband, Allan and their son, Hudson.

He is also survived by a special friend, Harold Barnes, and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

The family will receive friends immediately following the service Tuesday at Patetown Church of God and other times at his home.

Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.seymourfuneralhome.com.
