Carrie Wade Sanders-Cox, 72, Goldsboro, passed away Saturday, Sept. 6, 2014, at Wayne Memorial Hospital surrounded by her family.

Carrie was born in Wayne County June 30, 1942, to the late Royce and Carrie Maybell Pike Wade.

She had retired from Civil Service at Seymour Johnson Air Force Base.

Carrie was an avid bowler, and was a part of the Retiree's Bowling League.

A service celebrating Carrie's life will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 11, 2014, in the chapel of Seymour Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Evergreen Memorial Cemetery.

Carrie is survived by her husband, Ray Cox; children, Robert Sanders of Princeton and Rhonda Wolske and husband, Phillip, of Goldsboro; grandchildren, Eric Sanders, Jeffrey Witmer, Brandi Proctor, Cody Wolske and Hannah Wolske; great-grandchildren, Rowan Sanders, Gaven Proctor, Leah Witmer and Hunter Witmer; and brothers, Charles Wade and wife, Brenda, of Mount Olive and Kenneth Wade and wife, Amy, of Snow Hill.

She is also survived by her stepchildren, Melinda Clark and Lynn Diehl, and sister-in-law, Lois Scheetz.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Jim Wade and Harold Lee Wade.

Flowers are welcome or memorials may be given to Disabled American Veterans, 112 N. Patrick St., Goldsboro, N.C., 27530, or Spinal Bifida Association, 221 Dorset Ave., Virginia Beach, Va., 23462.

The family will receive friends Wednesday, Sept. 10, 2014, from 7 to 9 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home and other times at her home.
