John Hawkins, 88, Brooklyn, N.Y., formerly of Goldsboro, departed this life Wednesday.
Funeral and burial will be Saturday in Brooklyn.
He was the son of the late Rosa Howard Hawkins and John Albert Hawkins.
He is survived by a brother, Jethro Hawkins of Brooklyn, and several nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
