Eugene Anthony Mackvick, 86, Raleigh, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 5, 2014, at Crabtree Valley Rehab Center in Raleigh surrounded by his family.

Funeral services will be held Friday, Aug. 8, 2014, at 2:30 p.m. from the chapel of Howell Funeral Home and Crematory in Goldsboro.

Visitation will begin at 1:30 to 2:15 p.m. at the funeral home.

Entombment will follow at Wayne Memorial Park.

Mr. Mackvick was born Dec. 14, 1927, to the late Anthony and Helen Poth Mackvick.

He was a World War II veteran of the United States Army, and retired from ABC TV with more than 40 years of service.

He is survived by his loving wife, Dolly Kearney Mackvick; a son, Jeff Mackvick and wife, Cindy, of Clayton; a daughter, Joy Mackvick Killebrew and husband, Dan, of Wilson; two sisters, Valeria Protas of New York and Eleanor McManus of New Bern; seven grandchildren, Will, Cody, Leah, Ariel, Holly, Kimberly and Ashley; son-in-law, Dwight Wade of Snow Hill; two brothers-in-law, Kenneth Kearney and wife, Betty, of Goldsboro and Bo Kearney and wife, Mary, of Goldsboro; and three sisters-in law, Faye Phillips of Goldsboro, Doris Loy and husband, Fred, of Goldsboro and Beatrice Balkcum of Raleigh.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Mackvick was preceded in death by a daughter, Debbie Mackvick Wade.

The family is in the care of Howell Funeral Home and Crematory in Goldsboro.
