RALPH F. BRIDGERS

Aug. 24, 1923-Aug. 7, 2014

Ralph Francis Bridgers, 90, Princeton, passed away Thursday, Aug. 7, 2014, at his home surrounded by his family.

Ralph was born in Wayne County, N.C., Aug. 24, 1923, to the late George Dewey Bridgers and Millie Pearl Rhodes Bridgers. He was married to the late Ruby Ellen Evans Bridgers.

Ralph proudly served his country in the United States Navy during World War II.

He was a member of Ebenezer United Methodist Church.

Ralph was a longtime farmer in the Princeton community off U.S. 70. He always got the simple pleasure of watching his crops grow and taking care of his livestock. We know Ralph was forevermore honored in his calling; for they who labor in the earth are the chosen people of God.

A service celebrating Ralph's life will be held Saturday, Aug. 9, 2014, at 6 p.m. in the chapel of Seymour Funeral Home, with the Rev. Phillip Bland and the Rev. Linda Grider officiating.

The family will greet friends immediately following the service at the funeral home.

Interment will be Sunday, Aug. 10, 2014, at 2 p.m. in Evergreen Memorial Cemetery.

Ralph is survived by his son, Jerry Bridgers and wife, Janet, of Princeton, and his grandchildren, Jody Bridgers and wife, Lynn, of Goldsboro and Jill Eubanks and husband, Ken, of Princeton.

He is also survived by his great-grandchildren, Linden Bridgers, Preston Curtis Bridgers, Karston Eubanks, Addison Eubanks and Chaston Eubanks, and his sister, Inez Perkins of Goldsboro.

In addition to his wife and parents, Ralph was preceded in death by his son, Donnie Ralph Bridgers.

We would like to give a very special thank you to the wonderful staff at 3HC for the love and care it provided for Ralph during his final days. Simple words cannot express our gratitude.

Also a special thank you to his caregivers, Jeanette Burgess, Debbie Sauls, Sandra Erickson, Jessica Martin, Paige Reagan, Cheryl Crumpler, Lisa Braxton and Shirley Coley, who cared for Ralph over these past few months.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made to Ebenezer United Methodist Church, 3859 U.S. 70 West, Goldsboro, N.C., 27530.

Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.seymourfuneralhome.com.
