Luta Belle Smith Bunn Lawrence, 92, Goldsboro, passed away Sunday evening at Kitty Askins Hospice Center surrounded by her family.

Luta Belle was born in Wayne County Nov. 21, 1921, to the late Albert Jesse Smith and Martha Cora Rose Smith.

For many years, she had worked with the catalog department at Sears.

Luta Belle was a member of Pine Forest United Methodist Church.

She was a beautiful person whose loving spirit and ever-present smile radiated the joy she experienced in living every day of her life.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, June 26, 2014, at Pine Forest United Methodist Church. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

Luta Belle is survived by her husband, Joseph Monroe Lawrence; children, George Albert Bunn and wife, Yvonne, Don Bunn and Marty Fitzhugh and husband, Pat; stepchildren, Georgia Louise Lavarreda and husband, Carlos, Nona Jo Wilson and husband, Jim, and Hannah Dixon and husband, Wayne; 16 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Luta Belle was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Samantha Jo Dixon, and her siblings, Rosalie Smith Rhodes, Albert Jesse Smith Jr., Rebecca Smith Thompson, Alton Glenn Smith, Walena Smith Kornegay and Walton Smith.

Although flowers are welcome, memorials may be made to Pine Forest United Methodist Church, 867 N.C. 581 South, Goldsboro, N.C., 27530.

The family will receive friends Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home.
