SHEILA CHAVIS POPE

Sheila Chavis Pope, 65, passed away on Saturday, June 21, 2014 at Kitty Askins Hospice Center.
Sheila was born in Richmond County on Dec. 15, 1948 to the late Bernice Chavis and Helen Branch Chavis. She was employed by Wayco Ham.
A service celebrating Sheila's life will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday by the graveside at Oakland Heights Cemetery in Smithfield with the Rev. Jeff Barnes officiating.
Sheila is survived by her daughters, Lisa Pope Mooring and husband, Timothy of Goldsboro, Angela Pope Barnes and husband, Christopher of Pikeville; son, Travis Ray Pope of Pikeville; grandchildren, Kelli Forbis, Taylor Forbis, David Maddux, Caleb Barnes, Jared Barnes, Isabella Barnes, Christopher Mooring, Justin Mooring, Caleb Mooring, Alexis Pope, and Dallas Pope; great-grandchildren, McKayla Mooring, Arian Mooring, Slayden Mooring, Kainen Mooring; special sister-in-law, Ann Chavis; and special niece and nephew, April and Bryan Chavis.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Bernice Francis Chavis.
The family will receive friends Monday following the service at the cemetery and at other times at the home of her daughter Angela, 401 Kuwicki Road, Pikeville.
