CANARIE BEST SPRUILL

Canarie B. Spruill, 99, transitioned from this life, and peacefully entered into eternal rest May 27, 2014, at Kitty Askins Hospice Center surrounded by family.
She was born to the late Bryant Best Sr. and Priscilla Thompson Best, and was married the late Leonard Odell Spruill.
Canarie, the matriarch of her family, was a woman of faith, wisdom and strength.
Funeral services will be held Monday, June 2, 2014, at noon at Best Grove Missionary Baptist Church, 1065 Tommy's Road, Goldsboro, with the Rev. Joe A. Jackson officiating. Interment will be at New Spruill Cemetery in Pikeville, N.C.
Visitation will be an hour prior to the funeral at the church.
Viewing will be Sunday, June 1, 2014, from 1 to 6 p.m. at Hamilton Funeral Chapel.
Canarie leaves a legacy of love and fond memories that will be cherished in the hearts of her children, Leonard (Jacquelyn) Spruill, Zebedee (Kathleen) Spruill Sr., Willie James (Christine) Spruill, Deloris S. Price, Priscilla S. (Jimmie) Ford and Samuel D. Jones; 11 grandchildren, Teresa, Leonardo, Sherri, Nicki, Michael, Gregory, Nadine, Aronda, LaShonna, Marques and Devonte; 20 great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
The family will receive friends at her home, where it will assemble at 9:15 a.m. in preparation for the procession.
Arrangements are being handled by Hamilton Funeral Chapel.
