Brother John Wilbur Everette Sr., 83, died Tuesday, April 15, 2014, at his home.
Born in Johnston County, he was the son of Jasper and Effie Bennett.
A homegoing service will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, April 22, 2014, at St. James AME Zion Church, with the Rev. Dwight Cannon officiating and the Rev. Ronald Miller, pastor, presiding. Burial will follow in Everette Memorial Cemetery, Old Smithfield Road.
He is survived by his wife, Edith; four children, Carol (Levi) Dillahunt, Jonise (Ronald) Stallings, John Everette Jr. and Sandra (Rick) Newsome; 12 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; foster brother, Carlton D. Atkinson; foster daughter, JoAnn Daughtry; brother-in-law, Jack (Pearl) Eatmon; and a host of nephews, nieces and cousins.
A visitation will be held Monday, April 21, 2014, from 1 to 7 p.m. at J.B. Rhodes Funeral Home and Cremations.
