Thomas Grey "Tommy" Darden, 75, Stantonsburg, died Thursday, April 17, 2014.
Funeral will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at Wilson Memorial Service, 2811 Fieldstream Drive, Wilson.
The family will be at the funeral home for one hour prior to the service.
Interment will be at Eureka Cemetery.
Tommy served in the United States Navy and Greenville Police Department, and was a lieutenant with Dare County Sheriff.
Additionally, he farmed his family's land, worked at Dupont in Kinston and retired from Merck, Sharp and Dohme in Wilson.
Surviving are his daughter, Cynthia D. Russell of Clayton; beloved grandchildren, Kimberly and Matthew Russell of Clayton; sister, Joann D. Lucas of Stantonsburg; fianceé, Ann D. Vernelson of Greenville; sister-in-law, Mary Elizabeth Darden of Goldsboro; and many beloved nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Leon A. Darden of Goldsboro.
In honor of Tommy's love for nature, flowers are welcome at his funeral.
