REV. RUDOLPH IVEY

The Rev. Rudolph Ivey, 86, died Saturday at Kitty Askins Hospice Center.

Born in Dillon County, S.C., he was the son of the late Corbett and Maggie Ivey Rogers, and the husband of the late Ruth Strickland Ivey.

A veteran of the United States Air Force, he was also a salesman with Sears, and served in Church of God of Prophecy ministry for 35 years.

A service to celebrate his life will be held Thursday at 6 p.m. in the chapel of Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home. Burial will be Friday at 11 a.m. at Evergreen Memorial Cemetery.

He is survived by his two daughters, Libby Peedin of Goldsboro and Peggy Jean Clapp of South Beloit, Ill.; two sons, Charles Rudolph Ivey and John Michael Ivey of Goldsboro; a sister, Shirley McLean of Fairmont, S.C.; 13 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

Rev. Ivey was also preceded in death by his son, Larry Wayne Ivey.

The family will have a visitation immediately following the service Thursday evening. At other times, the family will be at the home of his daughter, Libby Peedin, 847 Old Grantham Road.
