MARY B. BATTEN

Mary Jeanette Bush Batten, 87, died Thursday at her residence.
Born in Bladen County, she was the daughter of the late William Way Bush and Flora Catherine Garrett Bush, and wife of the late William Harold Batten.
She was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church.
A service to celebrate her life will be held at the graveside at Pikeville Cemetery Sunday at 2 p.m., with the Rev. Dr. Mallie Hinnant officiating.
Family members will greet friends at the home following the service.
She is survived by her children, Sammy Batten of Fayetteville and Mary Jo Brock of LaGrange; two grandchildren, William Joel Batten-Armador of Durham and Matthew Kyle Brock of LaGrange; a grandson-in-law, Henry Armador-Batten of Durham; and a great-grandchild, Benjamin Armador Batten of Durham.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts in memory of Mary may be directed to Bethel United Methodist Church Building Fund, 1800 Hood Swamp Road, LaGrange, N.C., 28551.
