REBA JONES SUTTON

Mrs. Reba Jones Sutton, longtime Mount Olive resident, went to be with the Lord Tuesday morning, April 8, while being cared for at Genesis Care Center in Mount Olive. She was 96 years old.

Services to remember and celebrate her long and godly life will be at 11 a.m. Friday, April 11, by the graveside at Wayne Memorial Park, with the Rev. James Earl Herring and the Rev. Michael Harrell officiating.

Following the service, the family will remain at the graveside for a time of visitation and reminiscing. Friends and family will also be received at the home of Minnie Mae McCullen, 561 Marsh Kornegay Road, Faison.

Mrs. Sutton, a homemaker and farmer's wife, was a member of Miller's Chapel Church of Faison, and attended Thunder Swamp Pentecostal Holiness Church in the latter years when she was able.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ballard Sutton; an infant son, Ballard Keith Sutton; and a daughter, Rose S. Harrell.

As the youngest in a family of 12 children born to her parents, Henry and Minnie Mae Creech Jones, she was the last survivor of that generation of her family.

Survivors include two daughters, Minnie Mae S. McCullen of Faison and Joan S. Roberson of Wilmington; five grandchildren, J. B. Harrell and wife, Jennifer, of Goldsboro, Rosemary Harrell Lutcavage and husband, Dr. Gregory Lutcavage, and family of Goldsboro, the Rev. Michael Harrell and wife, Patricia, of Mount Olive, Monica Roberson Jordan of Wilmington and Nicole Roberson Wells and husband, Brandon, of Wilmington; eight great-grandchildren, Jason Harrell, Amber Simmons, Aaron Harrell, Adam Harrell, Elizabeth Ann Jordan, Sydney Christian Jordan, Jessica Wells and Jake Wells; two great-great-grandchildren, Seth Simmons and Gavin Simmons; extended family member, Carroll McCullen and friend, Peggy Brittan, of Faison

Mrs. Sutton will lie in state at Tyndall Funeral Home during the course of its usual business days both Wednesday and Thursday.
