ELLEN TADLOCK WALDRON

CALYPSO -- Ellen Marie Tadlock Waldron, 75, died Wednesday, Feb. 12, at her home in Moyock, N.C., surrounded by her family.

Born July 26, 1938, to the late Luby Tadlock Sr. and Rachel Faircloth Tadlock, she was raised in Calypso, and graduated from North Duplin High School May 22, 1957.

Soon after, she met and married Merlin Waldron, a member of the Air Force at Seymour Johnson Air Force Base, and they were married for 56 1/2 years before her passing.

In her earlier years, she attended Calypso Presbyterian Church, where she was active in the youth choir and Sunday school.

She worked with special needs children at Chesapeake Schools in Chesapeake, Va., and from which she retired.

Being an Air Force wife for 22 years, she worked with Girl Scouts in Norway, and was a great wife, mother, grandmother and sister.

Ellen is survived by her husband, Merlin Waldron; a son, Brian Waldron; a daughter, Renee Waldron, and a grandson, Brittin Waldron all of Moyock; a daughter, Michelle Waldron, and granddaughter, Kristina Jardine, both of Chesapeake, Va.; a sister, Ruby T. Wells of Mount Olive; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Feb. 19, at 11 a.m. at Tyndall Funeral Home chapel in Mount Olive.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday night, Feb. 18, from 7 to 8 p.m.

Instead of flowers, the family prefers that gifts in memory of Mrs. Waldron be made to American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 22718, Oklahoma City, Okla., 73123.
