MOUNT OLIVE -- Glenwood Lee Davis, 59, better known as Glenn, Rones Chapel community near Mount Olive, passed away unexpectedly Tuesday night, Feb. 11, 2014, at North Carolina Memorial Hospital in Chapel Hill.

Services to remember his life will be held Sunday, Feb. 16, at 5 p.m. at Tyndall Funeral Home, and will be conducted by pastor Doug Johnson, after which his family will receive friends. Friends and family are also being received at the home of his sister, Cathy.

Glenn is survived by four children, Elizabeth Harris and husband, Andy, of Trumbull, Conn., Glenwood Lee Davis II and fiancée, Katie Frasier, of Liberty, Daniel Ezzell Jr. and wife, Kristy, of Goldsboro and Sara Davis of Mount Olive; five grandchildren, Isaac Davis, Sophia Coburn, twins, Alyssa and Aubrey Harris, and Katelynn Ezzell; a brother, Roger Davis and wife, Martha, of Calypso; a sister, Cathy Davis Brock of Mount Olive; and three beloved nephews, Brent Davis and wife, Libbi, and John Davis and wife, Angie, all of Calypso and Alan Brock and wife, Jesi Knowles-Brock, of Mount Olive and their families.

His parents, Woodard and Frances Turner Davis, preceded their son in death.

Glenn's life revolved around farming, whether it be his own farming interests or as farm manager for Jake and McKinley Price, Brown's of Carolina or Murphy-Brown.

Known for his creativity and for his humble and giving spirit, he was a member of Zion United Methodist Church.

While he was a lifelong resident of the Rones Chapel area, he was quite fond of the Pricetown community in which he worked for such a long time, and where he had many friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to Zion United Methodist Church, c/o Mrs. Larry Williams, 360 Pineview Cemetery Road, Mount Olive, N.C., 28365.
