DOROTHY THOMPSON WELLONS

PRINCETON -- Dorothy Thompson Wellons, 81, died Monday morning, Jan. 6, 2014, in Johnston Medical Center.
Born Sept. 2, 1932, in Johnston County, she was the daughter of the late William Alton and Mary Rose Thompson.
Dorothy was a retired Princeton postal clerk, and a former member of the Princeton chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star, and former trustee of the Johnston County Public Library.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Princeton Baptist Church, of which she was a longtime member. Officiating will be her pastor, Dwayne Batten, and the Rev. Dennis Pollock. Burial will follow in Princeton Cemetery.
Surviving are her husband, William I. Wellons; sons, Bryant Wellons and wife, Kim, and Mark Wellons and wife, Mary, all of Princeton; daughter, Chloe Wellons of Raleigh; and three grandchildren, Megan Lee and husband, Matthew, and Daniel Wellons all of Princeton and Mandy Wellons of Raleigh.
The family will receive friends Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Parrish Funeral Home in Selma.
