WILLARD VICTOR COUSINS JR.

DANVILLE, Va. -- Willard Victor Cousins Jr. died Thursday, Dec. 19, 2013, at Duke Medical Center in Durham, N.C., after declining health for the past two years.

He was born in Republican Grove, Va., June 18, 1932. He was the son of the late Willard V. Cousins and Emma Lee Cousins.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded by a brother, Oscar M. Cousins of Goldsboro.

He is survived by the wife, Patricia Cousins; a daughter, Deborah C. Parsons (John); and two sons, W. Kevin Cousins (Angelique) of Georgetown, Ky., and William V. Cousins of Selma, N.C.

He is also survived by 11 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild; a brother, Robert C. Cousins (Linda); a sister, Beverly C. Summerlin (Gene) both of Goldsboro; and 30 nieces and nephews.

Vic entered the United States Navy upon graduation from Goldsboro High School in 1950, and retired after serving 20 years with the Seabees.

He spent the next 24 years working for the Public Works Department in Danville, Va.

He was a member of Faith Memorial Baptist Church.

Funeral services were held Sunday, Dec. 22, 2-13, at the church.
