John David "J.D." Fritzinger Jr., 70, passed away Sunday, Jan. 5, 2014, at Wayne Memorial Hospital surrounded by his family.
J.D. was born June 20, 1943, to the late John David Fritzinger Sr. and Dora Ellen Brock Fritzinger.
He was retired from Firestone/Bridgestone in Wilson, and enjoyed keeping score for baseball games at Eastern Wayne High School.
A memorial service will be held at 6 p.m. Wednesday in the chapel of Seymour Funeral Home.
The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
J.D. is survived by his wife, Mary Kelly Fritzinger; his sons, Jeff Fritzinger and wife, Catherine, of Pikeville, Chris Corbett and wife, Jenny, of Sims and John Corbett of Goldsboro; and his brother, Dwayne Fritzinger of Beaufort, N.C.
He is also survived by his grandchildren, Dylan Corbett, Jordan Corbett and Brock Corbett, and a host of nieces and nephews.
