PEGGY FRANKS JACKSON

Peggy Franks Jackson, 77, passed away Friday at Kitty Askins Hospice Center surrounded by her family.

Peggy was born Oct. 21, 1936, in Millbrook, N.C., to the late Graham H. Franks and Bette Allene Barbour Franks. She was the widow of the late Gordon Lee Jackson.

Peggy was a longtime member of St. Luke United Methodist Church.

She was a dedicated and loving mother, who raised four children single-handedly after the unexpected death of her husband. Peggy played a vital role in the lives of her grandchildren.

In her time, she touched many hearts, and was a significant source of strength, comfort and compassion to everyone she came into contact with.

Funeral services will be Monday at 2 p.m. at St. Luke United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Adam Seate officiating. Interment will follow in Wayne Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends Monday from 1 to 2 p.m. at the church and at other times, at the home, 413 Quail Drive.

Peggy is survived by her children, Michael Lee Jackson and wife, Deborah Lynn, of Creedmoor, N.C., Mark Lane Jackson and wife, Sue, of Eureka, Marisa Jackson of the home and Kevin Jackson of Goldsboro.

She is also survived by her grandchildren, Bryan Jackson, Serena Jackson, Tommy Richardson, Alyssa Jackson, Jennifer Robinson and Crystal Williams; her great-grandchildren, Bradley Williams, Noah Robinson, Blake Robinson, Cody Jackson, Caleb Williams and Corey Williams; and her brother, Donald Franks of Wilson.

In addition to her parents and husband, Peggy was preceded in death by her sister, Josephine Franks Carroll, and her brother, Everette Franks.
