TINA WOOTEN

Tina Wheeler Wooten, 50, formerly of Goldsboro, passed away Aug. 27 at the Wayne T. Patrick Hospice House in Rock Hill, S.C.

On Jan. 17, 1963, Tina Louise Wheeler was born to Willie George and the late Lucille Wheeler. Tina was the youngest of nine girls born to their union.

Tina attended Goldsboro City Schools and graduated from Goldsboro High School East with the Class of 1981. After graduating high school, Tina continued her education and reached her career goal of becoming a registered nurse. Tina was a well-respected nurse and patient advocate who was known to go above and beyond with her job. Even as her health began to decline, she continued her commitments at White Oak Manor of Rock Hill, S.C.

She leaves to cherish her memory: her husband, Tony M. Wooten of Rock Hill, S.C.; two children, Nikita D. Stephens of Goldsboro and Cameron M. Wooten of Rock Hill, S.C.; her father, Willie George Wheeler of Goldsboro; seven sisters, Sadie Jarmon, Willie Mae King, Sandra Wheeler, Linda Campbell, Brenda Stovall and Barbara Parker, all of Goldsboro, and Hattie Wheeler of Harrisonburg, Va.; two brothers Timothy Wheeler and Willie Wheeler Jr. of Goldsboro; along with a host of nieces, nephews, in-laws and other relatives and friends.

A wake will be held at J.B. Rhodes Funeral Home and Cremations located at 1701 Wayne Memorial Drive, Goldsboro, on Sunday, Sept. 1, from 6 to 7 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Monday, Sept. 2, at 11 a.m. at Frist African Baptist Church located at 803 Harris St, Goldsboro, followed by interment at Old Mill Cemetery.
