Apostle Donnie LaGrang McIntyre, 59, 609 Gloucester Road, Goldsboro, N.C., transitioned from labor to reward Monday, June 24, 2013, in Hyattsville, Md.

He was born Sept. 14, 1953, to the late James Earl McIntyre and Dorothy Mae Middleton McIntyre in Wayne County.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 29, 2013, at 11 a.m. at Love Temple United Holy Church Headquarters, 201 N. Oak Forest Road, Goldsboro, N.C., with apostle Dennis Jacobs officiating.

Interment will follow at Wayne Memorial Park-South in Dudley, N.C.

Apostle McIntyre will lie in state Friday, June 28, 2013, from 3 to 6 p.m. at Love Temple United Holy Church Headquarters, 201 N. Oak Forest Road, Goldsboro, N.C.

He was educated in the former Goldsboro City Schools, and graduated from Southern Wayne High School, a part of the class of 1971.

Donnie then attended Sampson County Cosmetology School and Fayetteville Technical Community College, and later became a licensed funeral director. He received a doctoral degree of Doctor of Religious Philosophy from Tabernacle Bible College and Seminary in Tampa, Fla., July 2, 2002.

Apostle D.L. was blessed to own several businesses, which included New Look Beauty Salons 1 and 2, Tiffany's Ladies Apparel, First Ladies' Clothing Boutique, Giovanni's Men's Clothing and McIntyre Funeral Home and Florist, with two locations, one in Goldsboro and a second one in Mount Olive, N.C.

The anointing and divine call of God was evident upon apostle D.L.'s life.

He pastured North East Free Will Baptist Church in Mount Olive and Faith Temple No. 3 in St. Paul's, N.C., and he was the founder of Christ Memorial Ministries in Goldsboro, N.C., which was birthed June 26, 1988.

Also, apostle McIntyre hosted a radio show in Goldsboro and Mount Olive called "Just A Voice."

He was chosen and ordained to the office of bishop Nov. 2, 1996. Oct. 10, 2004, he was commissioned to the office of apostle.

Apostle McIntyre was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Tiffany Chanel; two sisters, Gloria Jean Lewis and Patricia M. King; and a brother, Edward Earl McIntyre.

He is survived by his loving and dedicated wife of the home and soul mate, apostle Diane McIntyre; three sons, Jamison D'Andre, Justin LaMar and Stephen Giovanni; a daughter, T'iarra Chanel; seven grandchildren; a sister, Melanie McIntyre Holmes; a brother, Leslie Middleton and wife, Faye; a host of in-laws; a very special pet, Fluffy Andrew; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
