MAJOR T. 'BUDDY' MOODY

Major Theodore "Buddy" Moody, 81, died Wednesday at Wayne Memorial Hospital.

Born in Duplin County, he was the son of the late Major Dortch Moody and the late Beulah Lewis Moody.

He was also preceded in death by a son, Tony Moody, and two sisters, Rae Jones and Nettie Prince.

Buddy was a member of Emmaus Baptist Church, a charter member of Arrington Volunteer Fire Department and the Dudley Trail Riders.

He served in Korea with the United States Army, and was a dedicated employee of Tri-County Electric for 23 years.

A service to celebrate the life of Buddy Moody will be held Friday evening at 7 p.m. at Emmaus Baptist Church, with the Rev. Jim Willoughby officiating.

Family members will greet friends Friday immediately following the service at the church, and at other times will be at the home of his son, Joe Moody, 4327 U.S. 117 Alternate, Dudley.

A graveside service will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at Emmaus Church Cemetery with military and fire department honors.

Buddy is survived by his wife, Sally Moody; two sons, Ted Moody and Joe Moody and wife, Tammy, all of Dudley; three daughters, Cellie Balltzgelier and her husband, Perry, of Dudley, Audrey Gregory of Dudley and Judy Ingram and husband, Keith, of Rocky Mount; four sisters, Cathy Johnson of Zebulon, Rochie Taylor of Dudley, Betty Hines of Dudley and Jimmie Davis of Goldsboro; an honorary brother, Lamont Herring of Dudley; 11 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and special loved ones, Debbie Grady and Juan Arreola.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial gifts be directed to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, 26 Broadway, 14th Floor, New York, N.Y., 10004
