HAYWOOD AVERY WATSON (AVERY)

SEVEN SPRINGS -- May 2, 2013, Avery Watson, 61, Seven Springs, N.C., went to be with his heavenly father after a long illness with complications due to heart disease and diabetes.

A memorial service and celebration of his life will be held Saturday, May 11, at 2 p.m. at Seven Springs Baptist Church, with the Rev. Rick Rigney officiating. His wishes were to be cremated, so there will be no grave service.

Born Jan. 30, 1952, in Wake County, Avery was the son of Thomas Earl and Elgie Watson.

He worked for the Department of Corrections for many years, followed by Automotive Paint and Body and various sales positions during his working career. Due to illness, he had been retired for the past several years.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his wife of 29 years, Greta Watson of the home; daughters, Kayla Smith, Kiyleigh and Klarissa Watson, Maryetta Sollars and Loretta Pollitt; a son, Eric Watson; grandchildren, Christian Sollars, Benjamin Mullen and Kaleb Randall; brothers, Stephen Watson of Willow Spring, N.C., and Daniel Watson of Silver City, N.C.; and faithful companion, Raven, the family dog.
