Bishop Alea M. Best, 82, 2101 N. William St., Goldsboro, N.C., departed her earthly life Sunday, May 5, 2013, at Vidant Medical Center in Greenville, N.C.

Alea was born in Wayne County Nov. 14, 1930, to the late Mr. Charlie J. Wilson and Mrs. Luvenia Jarmon Bullock.

She received her education in the public schools of Wayne County.

Bishop Best was preceded in death by her husband, bishop Hebrew M. Best.

Bishop Best was a member of Greater Faith Tabernacle Holy Church of Wallace, N.C.

Funeral service will be conducted Saturday, May 11, 2013, at 11 a.m. at the LBJ Community Development Center, 1007 S. John St., Goldsboro, N.C. Pastor Felix A. Herring will officiate.

Interment will follow in Elmwood Cemetery, 441 U.S. 117 North Bypass, Goldsboro, N.C.

An Inspirational public viewing will be held Friday evening, May 10, 2013, at the LBJ Community Development Center, 1007 S. John St., Goldsboro, N.C., from 6 to 8 p.m., with the family present from 6 to 8 p.m., to receive other family members and friends.

Bishop Best leaves to cherish her loving and precious memories two sons, James Jarmon of Goldsboro, N.C., and Benjamin McCullen and wife, Iona, of Hinesville, Ga.; two adopted daughters, minister Gloria Howell and husband, Sgt. Thomas, of Dudley, N.C., and elder Brenda Hamilton of Goldsboro, N.C.; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins other relatives and friends.

At other times, the family will receive friends and other family members at the home of Bishop Best's son, Mr. James Jarmon, 808-A Olivia Lane, Goldsboro, N.C.

The family will assemble Saturday, May 11, 2013, at the residence of Mr. James Jarmon, 808-A Olivia Lane, Goldsboro, N.C., an hour prior to the funeral at 9:55 a.m. in preparation for the funeral procession.
