PIKEVILLE -- George Howard Wilson, 92, passed away Wednesday, March 27, 2013, at his home surrounded by his family.
George was born in Wayne County May 28, 1920, to the late Willie and Vina Person Wilson. He was married to the late Lillian Mitchell Wilson.
George was a retired plumber, and a member of Pikeville First Baptist Church, where he served as a former deacon.
He served his country in the United States Army.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 30, 2013, at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Seymour Funeral Home, with the Rev. Johnny Sasser officiating. Burial will follow in Radford Family Cemetery.
George is survived by his daughters, Janice McCullen and husband, Billy, of Dudley, Sandra Bass of Eureka, Lynn Johnson and husband, Mike, of Pikeville and Betty Peele and husband, Jeffrey, of Saulston; sons, Donald Wilson and wife, Jane, of Pikeville and Larry Wilson and wife, Deborah, of Durham; brother, Randle Wilson of Fremont; 15 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Friday, March 29, 2013, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home and other times at his home.
