William Ashley "Bill" Jones, 82, passed away early Saturday morning at Wayne Memorial
Hospital.
A funeral service will be 2 p.m. Monday at Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home with Bishop Ray Lane officiating. Burial will follow in Wayne Memorial Park. The family will receive friends an hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Bill was born in Wayne County to the late Phillip Blunt and Emma Williams Jones and was married to the late Alice Hill Jones and the late Della Johnson Ginn Jones.
He was a member of Fort Run Pentecostal Free Will Baptist Church.
He is survived by his son, Jeff Jones and wife, Cindy of Goldsboro; three daughters, Faye Lane, and husband, Ray of Pikeville, Debbie Jones of Goldsboro, Carolyn Jones and husband, Greg of Summerville, S.C.; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and a special friend, Carolyn Smith.
