DUDLEY -- Frances Palmarozzo McBrayer, 84, passed away Thursday, March 28, 2013, at Kitty Askins Hospice Center surrounded by her family.
A visitation will be held Friday, March 29, 2013, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home, followed by a prayer service at 7 p.m.
A service of remembrance will be held Saturday, March 30, 2013, at 10 a.m. at Neuse Baptist Church in Kinston, with pastor Greg A. Kincaid officiating. Interment will be at a later date in the Sandhills State Veterans Cemetery in Spring Lake, N.C.
Family and friends are welcome at the Barkhurst Home following the visitation tonight at 152 Quail Drive, Dudley.
Frances was born in Boston, Mass., March 20, 1929, to the late Joseph and Mary Devico Palmarozzo. She was married to the late John L. McBrayer.
Frances was employed as a seamstress for West Point, and had volunteered at Spring Creek Elementary School for the past few years. She had also volunteered at the Soup Kitchen.
Frances was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, where she used her abilities to share the love of God.
She was also a member of the Family Y.
Frances is survived by her daughters, Maria Longcore and husband, Dylan, of Raleigh and Karen Barkhurst and husband, Bob, of Dudley; sister, Grace Gervino; and brother, Joseph Palmarozzo.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Nicholas Palmarozzo.
Memorials in memory of Frances may be given to Kitty Askins Hospice Center, 107 Handley Park Court, Goldsboro, N.C., 27534.
