LAGRANGE -- Julius "Buddy" Herring Jr., 56, LaGrange, passed away Wednesday, March 27, 2013.
Buddy was born Dec. 10, 1956, in Wayne County to Annie Jones Herring of Scotts Store and the late Julius Herring Sr.
Buddy had worked for the past 13 years as a loader operator for Case Farms.
A lover of hard work and the outdoors, Buddy enjoyed gardening, John Deere collectibles, bluegrass music, his chickens and, most of all, spending time with his family.
A graveside service will be held Saturday, March 30, 2013, at 11 a.m. at Herring Family Cemetery, Bennett's Bridge Road, Mount Olive, with the Rev. Paul Rose officiating.
In addition to his mother, Buddy is survived by his wife of 19 years, Wilma Aycock Herring; three children, Julius Herring III of Scotts Store, Jessica Lopez and husband, Sergio, of Albertson and Katie Herring of LaGrange; brother, Lannie Ray Herring of Scotts Store; eight grandchildren, Boo, Chu-Cho, Nicole, Chunky, Jose, Katlyn, Matt and Kirkland; two nephews, Daniel and Ray Herring; his faithful canine companion, Sassy; and a special family friend, Bill Teel.
The family will receive friends Saturday following the graveside service.
