LAGRANGE -- Lucille Waters Rouse, 91, LaGrange, went to be with her Lord Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2013.
Mrs. Rouse was born Oct. 12, 1921, in Greene County to the late William Tobias Waters and Alma Grant Waters.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Harvey Bingham Rouse; and son, Melvyn Rouse.
Miss Lucille attended LaGrange Church of God.
A lifelong homemaker and farmer's wife, Lucille enjoyed gardening and loved cooking for her family.
A service of remembrance will be held Saturday, Feb. 23, 2013, at 3 p.m. at Rouse Funeral Home, with the Rev. Arnold Ball and the Rev. Harold Anderson officiating. Interment will be Sunday at 3 p.m. at Flatfield Cemetery.
Miss Lucille is survived by her daughter, Sue Thomas and husband, Harold, of Snow Hill; two grandsons, Donald Thomas and wife, Mandy, of Clayton and Ben Thomas and wife, Tracy, of Goldsboro; three great-grandchildren, Carter Finley Thomas, Cooper Bingham Thomas and Noah Wilson Thomas; along with her special caregiver, Delores Williams.
The family will receive friends following the service of remembrance, and at other times will be at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Harold Thomas, 703 Greenridge Road, Snow Hill.
