PIKEVILLE -- Jerry Lee Yelverton, 61, passed away Thursday, Feb. 21, 2013, at Wayne Memorial Hospital.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, Feb. 24, 2013, at 3 p.m. from the chapel of Shackleford-Howell Funeral Home in Fremont. Interment will follow at Eureka Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Sunday from 2 to 2:45 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mr. Yelverton was born in Wayne County June 28, 1951, to the late Bob and Virginia Flowers Yelverton.
He was a veteran of the United States Navy.
He is survived by his sons, Harley Yelverton and William Yelverton of Pikeville; the mother of his children, Sharon Stilley of Pikeville; a brother, Carl Yelverton and wife, Betsy, of Eureka; and a sister, Edna Y. Braswell of Eureka.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Yelverton was preceded in death by a brother, Albert Hardy Yelverton, and a sister, Donna Y. Dupuy.
Flowers are welcome or memorial contributions may be directed to the American Cancer Society.
