FREMONT -- John Mack Wilder, 92, 1419 Norwayne School Road, Fremont, passed away Sunday, Feb. 17, 2013.

A celebration of his life will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Goldsboro-Raleigh Disciples Institute, 211 W. Hooks River Road, Goldsboro. Interment will follow at Fremont Cemetery, Winding Branch Road, Fremont.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Rosa Wilder, and a son, Larry Wilder.

Loving memories are forever cherished by sons, James Wilder (Karen) of Dudley and Mack Wilder (Angeline) of Washington, D.C.; daughters, Rosemary Wilder of the home, Johnanne Best (Roosevelt) of Elm City and Hilda Parks of Dudley; 17 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild; brothers, Jerome Wilder of Atlanta, Ga., and Willie "Bill" Wilder (Janice) of Tryon, N.C.; sisters, Ann Henderson of New Bern, N.C., Naomi Harris of Forrest City, N.C., Oprie Applewhite (Willie) of Fayetteville, N.C., Marilyn Thorne (Elijah) of Maryland and Madge Wilder of Maryland; and several nieces, nephews, cousins as well as other special relatives and friends.

A public viewing will take place Wednesday from 2 to 8 p.m., with the family present from 6 to 8 p.m., at Hamilton Funeral Chapel, 423 S. James St., Goldsboro.

All other times, the family will receive friends at the residence, where it will also assemble in preparation of the funeral procession.

Arrangements are by Hamilton Funeral Chapel of Wilson.
