MARVIN DEAN HOPPMANN

Marvin Dean Hoppmann, 79, passed away Thursday, Jan. 10, 2013.

Marvin was born in Chappell, Neb., Aug. 2, 1933, to the late Henry Christian John Hoppmann and Lydia Margaret Schweitzer Hoppmann.

He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force as a radar operator, and retired after 21 years of service with the rank of technical sergeant.

Following his retirement from the military, Marvin worked with Goldsboro Milling Co.

He was a member of Peace Lutheran Church.

Marvin had a great love for his cats, Lucky and Red, and will be remembered by many as a master gardener.

Friends will gather Saturday, Jan. 12, 2013, from 11 a.m. to noon at Seymour Funeral Home to remember Marvin. Interment will be at a later date in Chappell Cemetery in Chappell, Neb.

Marvin is survived by his brothers, Duane Alcriss Hoppmann, Melvin Christian John Hoppmann and Norman Glen Hoppmann, and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by brothers, Lyle Alva Hoppmann, Albert Christian Hoppmann and twin brother, Mervin Gene Hoppmann.

He is also survived by his special friends, James "Toodle" and Marie Sugg, Jeffrey B. Jackson and Athena Doty.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Wayne County Animal Shelter, P.O. Box 227, Goldsboro, N.C., 27533.
