EDENTON -- Sarah Elliott Hollowell, 91, formerly of 1521 West Queen St., went to be with the Lord on Thursday, Jan. 10, 2013, from Countryside Village in Pikeville.

Graveside services will be held Monday at 2 p.m. at Beaver Hill Cemetery by the Rev. David Brooks. Miller Funeral Home and Crematory, 735 Virginia Road, Edenton, is handling arrangements.

Born Dec. 10, 1921, in the Chapanoke community of Perquimans County, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Proctor and Linda Benton Elliott. A member of Edenton Baptist Church, she is remembered for her love and support of her family, her friends, and her love of working with plants in her yard. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Weldon Aydlett Hollowell, and brothers, Matthew Henry Elliott, John Ambrose Elliott and L.B. "Ranzy" Elliott.

Surviving are her daughter, Linda Ann Hollowell of Durham; her sons, Wayne Aydlett Hollowell of Rocky Mount and David Elliott Hollowell and wife, Terri, of Fremont; two sisters, Lessie Elliott White of Winfall and Minnie Bell Elliott of Chapanoke; two grandsons, Wayne Aydlett Hollowell Jr. and wife, Kristen, and Joseph Ross Hollowell; and a great-grandson, William Aydlett Hollowell.

Friends may join the family in the fellowship hall of Edenton Baptist Church immediately following the graveside service.
