ELINOR C. EZZELL

MOUNT OLIVE -- Mrs. Elinor Carter Ezzell, 80, Rones Chapel community near Mount Olive, passed away late Wednesday night, Jan. 9, 2013.

Services to remember her good and beautiful life will be held at 6 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 12, at Tyndall Funeral Home chapel in Mount Olive. The Rev. Paul Rose and the Rev. Mike Whatley will officiate.

Immediately following Saturday night's service, the Ezzell family will receive friends and relatives at the funeral home, and at other times at the residence.

Mrs. Ezzell will be laid to rest in a private family service to be held at the family cemetery.

She was a lifelong member of Rones Chapel United Methodist Church, where she sang in the church choir and was president of the church's United Methodist Women.

She was the retired executive director of Goshen Medical Center Inc.

Mrs. Ezzell, daughter of the late Atlas Harvey Carter and Beatrice Williamson Carter, was a willing worker within her church and community, always ready to assist when and where needed.

She is survived by her husband, Norwood Ezzell of the home; four daughters and their husbands, Cindy E. and Ricky Bell of Mount Olive, Koren E. and Kenny Edwards of Virginia, Bea E. and Michael Odom of Mount Olive and Melba E. and Frankie Harrell of Wallace; a son, Norwood Francis Ezzell II of Charlotte; seven grandchildren, Tavia Cavallaro Angelo, Emily Brown and husband, William, Meredith Holt and husband, Will, James Harrell and wife, Eve, Mark Harrell and wife, Charlotte, John Bell and wife, Kelli, and Carrie Shields and husband, Josh; five great-grandchildren, Madi Brown, Adin Brown, Angelina Cavallaro, Sam Cavallaro and Connor Harrell; and a brother, Stuart Carter of Graham.

She was also the sister of two other brothers, who died in infancy.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorial gifts be made to Rones Chapel United Methodist Church, 138 Garner's Chapel Road, Mount Olive, N.C., 28365, or the Elinor Ezzell Educational Scholarship Fund, c/o Southern Bank, P.O. Box 729, Mount Olive, N.C., 28365.
