MOUNT OLIVE -- Margaret Vernon Jackson Harper, 94, passed away early Saturday morning, Jan. 12, while a patient at Wayne Memorial Hospital.
Funeral services will be conducted at 7 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 14, at Tyndall Funeral Home with Pastors Jeff Dail and Doug Bartlett officiating, followed by visitation. Burial will be Tuesday, Jan. 15, at 10:30 a.m. in Maplewood Cemetery. Friends and family are also being received at the Jean Letchworth residence, 127 Dale Road, Mount Olive.
Mrs. Harper was a member of Mount Olive First Pentecostal Holiness Church. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Nathan Jackson and Curtis Harper; her parents, Lee and Lettie Jones Vernon; two grandsons, Richard Jackson and Billy Edwards; and three brothers, Ben, Paul and Jay Vernon.
Her survivors include two daughters, Shirley J. Edwards and husband, John, of Grantham, and Jean J. Letchworth of Mount Olive; a son, George R. "Ricky" Jackson and wife, Sheila, of Warsaw; a sister, Doris Tharp of Richlands; four grandchildren, Steve Edwards, Debra Miller and husband, Fred, David Letchworth and wife, Anne, and David Alan Jackson and wife, Brandy; 13 great-grandchildren; and nine great-great-grandchildren.
