ELLIS LEE BLANN

WILMINGTON -- Ellis Lee Blann was born Aug. 27, 1926, to Milton Lee Blann and Helena Marie Dietert Blann Dorsey in Trappe, Md.
He was raised in Goldsboro, attended North Carolina State College and served in World War II in the 17th Infantry Division HQCo.
He was a master Mason in St. John's Lodge No. 1, Wilmington.
While traveling for Queensboro Steel, he made many friends from customers, but his greatest joy was serving in Winter Park Volunteer Fire Department.
The love of Ellis' life, who survives, was Patricia Gibson Stanley Blann, whom he met in the fourth grade. Together they raised three children, Cynthia Blann Bossi (Lee), E. Lee Blann II (Janet) and Nancy Patricia Blann.
His grandchildren are Mandy Bossi, Sara Bossi Bonser (Michael), Chris Blann, Jesse Blann, Erin Blann, Lisa Blann and Keaton Fonvielle Plant (Daniel). His great-grandchildren are Madison Bonser, Caitlyn Connor, Anton Blann and Evan Buchanan.
A celebration of Ellis' life will be held at the home of Lee and Cindy Bossi Saturday, Jan. 12, 2013, at 1 p.m. All of his friends and relatives are invited to participate.
In lieu of flowers, donations to Lower Cape Fear Hospice, 1414 Physicians Drive, Wilmington, N.C., 28401, would be appreciated.
