WILSON -- James Alvin Scott, 69, died Wednesday.
A private service will be held at a later date. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Joyner's Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway.
He is survived by his wife, Deanna Creech Scott; two daughters, Kimberley Scott and Shana Scott, both of Apex; a son, Gregory Scott and wife, Lauren, of Clayton; three granddaughters, Logan Scott of Apex, and Hannah Scott and Rachel Scott, both of Clayton; a grandson, Caleb Scott of Apex; a sister, Minnie Faye Pittman and husband, Wayne, of Pikeville; and three brothers, Edwin Scott and wife, Faye, of Fremont; David Scott and wife, Pam, of Fremont and Johnny Lucas and wife, Marie, of Wilson.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Minnie Mae Howell Scott, and a sister, Carlene Scott.
In lieu of flowers, the Scott family requests memorials be directed to the Arthritis National Research Foundation, Benefit: Juvenile Arthritis, 200 Oceangate, Suite 830, Long Beach, Ca. 90802.
