Edgar Ray Heath, 63, passed away at home Saturday surrounded by his family.

A celebration of his life will be held Monday, Dec. 17, 2012, at 7 p.m. in the chapel of Seymour Funeral Home, with pastor Tommy Moore and the Rev. Johnny Sasser officiating.

The family will greet friends after the service, and at other times in the Heath home, 200 Knollwood Drive, Goldsboro.

He retired from AP Exhaust after 29 years of loyal service.

Ray is survived by his devoted and loving wife, Gail Heath, and children, Duane Pilkington, Teresa Lane and husband, Jimmy, and Amanda Peacock and husband, Ervin, all of Goldsboro.

He is also survived by a brother, Gene Heath and fiancée, Lucille Turnage of LaGrange, and sisters, Retha DeChiaro of Albany, N.Y., and Brenda Parker and husband, Jerry, of Goldsboro.

"RayRay" also leaves behind six grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and his special canine companion, Bridget.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Evelyn Heath, and his brothers, J.C. Heath and Lynwood Tom Heath.

The family would like to send a special thank you to Dr. Kasbari and the staff at Southeastern Medical Oncology, and the staff at 3HC.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Cures for the Colors, the local cancer foundation, SMOC, 203 Cox Blvd., Goldsboro, N.C., 27534.
