Viola Exum Grantham died Wednesday morning at Wayne Memorial Hospital.

Funeral services will be held Monday at noon at Goldsboro-Raleigh District Assembly, 211 W. Hooks River Road, with Pastor Kenneth Vaughn officiating. Burial will follow in the Wayne Memorial Park South, Dudley. A public viewing will be held today from 4 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Relatives left to cherish her memory are three sons, Rudolph Grantham (Virginia) of Smithfield, Charles Grantham (Elizabeth) of Goldsboro, and Joseph Truman Core (Carolyn) of Pikeville; two daughters she adopted as her own, Cassandra Stevenson and Margaret Battle (Nathaniel), both of Goldsboro; a brother, James Exum; one granddaughter she raised as her own, Shonnette Grantham (fiance James) of the home; eight other grandchildren, Daphne Grantham of Austin, Texas, Sharon Johnson, Sonya Griffis (Gregory) and Rudolph Grantham Jr., both of Raleigh, Angeline McInis (Robert), Charles Grantham II (Lauren), Pastor Darian Grantham (Antonia), Minister Kelly Core (Sharon), all of Goldsboro; one foster granddaughter, Natifa Taymullah of Dudley; 14 great-grandchildren; 11 great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and foster children.
