RUSSELL MILLER MOORE

Russell Miller Moore, 92, went to be with Jesus on Friday, Dec. 14, 2012, surrounded by his family at Kitty Askins Hospice Center.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, Dec. 17, 2012, at United In Christ Church with the Rev. Ira Williford officiating. Burial will follow in Wayne Memorial Park.
Russell was born in Huntsville, Ala. on June 7, 1920, to the late Bertha and Waymon Moore. He proudly served his country in the United States Army during World War II serving in the South Pacific. Russell was a man of incredible faith in God and love for others. He will be remembered as a generous, caring, compassionate man and loyal friend. He was a member of United In Christ Church, where he served as a Sunday School teacher, Bible scholar and a mentor to so many people.
Russell was a devoted husband and father. He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Myrtle Griffis Moore; his children, Mickey Moore and wife, Donna, of Cleveland, Tenn., Sandi Eubanks and husband, Bill, of Swansboro, Betty Grantham and husband, Mitchell, of Goldsboro, and Donna Grimes and husband, John, of Roanoke Rapids; grandchildren, Russell Eubanks and wife, Kim, of Alpharetta, Ga., Brian Eubanks and wife, Becky, of Myrtle Beach, S.C., Brent Moore and wife, Michelle, of Denver, Colo., Jared Grantham and wife, Amanda, of Goldsboro, Lauren Rogers and husband, Brooks, of Goldsboro, Ashley Grimes of Cleveland, Tenn., Jack Grimes of Goldsboro and Hannah Grimes of Roanoke Rapids; and great-grandchildren, Jackson Eubanks, Lindsey Eubanks, Evan Moore, Maren Moore, Ellisyn Rogers and Kylee Grantham.

The family will receive friends today, Dec. 16, 2012, from 4 until 6 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home and other times at his home.
