Betty Cotton Hinnant, 64, passed away suddenly Wednesday morning at her home.

The family will receive friends Friday, Nov. 30, 2012, at Seymour Funeral Home from 6 until 7 p.m. followed by a service of remembrance at 7 p.m. in the chapel with Bill Garner officiating. Interment will be on Saturday, Dec. 1, 2012, at 11 a.m. at New Hope Friends Cemetery.

Betty was born in Wayne County on Jan. 16, 1948, to Verda Pennington Cotton of Grantham and the late L.N. Cotton. She was married to the late Bobby Lee Hinnant. Betty had worked with B-Mar Services and later with D.W.B.H Services at Seymour Johnson Air Force Base. She had a great love for her friends at New-South and her grandchildren, but she always enjoyed working in her yard as it always showed.

In addition to her mother, Betty is survived by her daughters, Bobbie Jean Hinnant Buchan of Goldsboro and Jane Hinnant and John of Goldbsoro; son, Michael Lee Hinnant; grandchildren, Amber Buchan, Hayley Grady, Kayley Williford, Bobby Lee Hinnant, and Gracie Hinnant; sisters, Judy Sasser and husband, Carlton, Cathy Best and husband, Joe Paul, and Donna Cotton; brothers, Jerry Cotton and wife, Karen, and Jimmy Cotton and wife, Carol; a special friend, Gerald Garris, and several nieces and nephews.
