EMMITT PARRISH

LaGRANGE -- Walter Emmitt Parrish, 92, of LaGrange, passed away Friday, Nov. 9, 2012, on his 92nd birthday.

A graveside service of remembrance will be held today, Nov. 11, 2012, at 3 p.m. at Fairview Cemetery with the Rev. Tony McLamb officiating.

Emmitt was born Nov. 9, 1920, in Wayne County to the late Walter Scott Parrish and Eva Nance Parrish. He was preceded in death by his wives, Sally Daniels Parrish and Margaret Boyette Parrish. Emmitt was a life-long farmer and a member of Walnut Creek Original Free Will Baptist Church. In later years, he enjoyed gardening and working in his yard.

Mr. Parrish is survived by five children, Eugene Parrish and wife, Dora, of LaGrange, Judy Ward and husband, Joe, of Rolesville, Donald Parrish and wife, Christine, of LaGrange, Carrol Suddreth and husband, Wade, of LaGrange and Sylvia Galloway and husband, Ronald, of LaGrange; eight grandchildren, Christel Perry and husband, Jay, Gene Parrish and wife, April, Joey Ward, Jerry Ward and wife, Jennifer, Tony Parrish and wife, Rachel, Donna Mitchell and husband, Gabe, Robin Benson and husband, Garry, Scott Barrow; and 14 great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends today following the graveside service and at other times they will be at the Parrish home. Online condolences may be expressed at www.rousefh.com.
