KINSTON -- Dr. Katherine Elizabeth Lancaster Braswell, 72, 2739 Picadilly Road, Kinston, formerly of Goldsboro, passed away Saturday Oct. 13, 2012, at Harmony Hall Nursing Home in Kinston.
Dr. Braswell was professor of literature and languages at Mount Olive College.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 18, 2012, at Edwards Funeral Home in Kinston, with the Rev. Tryon Lancaster and the Rev. Eckie Lancaster officiating.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Rev. Alton S. Lancaster Sr. and Ruby Conoly Lancaster.
She is survived by her daughter, Louise A. "Toni" Braswell; grandsons, Michael and Matthew Braswell of Kinston; her brother and sister-in-law, Alton S. Lancaster Jr. and Pat H. Lancaster of Clarkton; and her sister, Loretta L. Willoughby of Greenville.
She is also survived by four nieces, a nephew, a grandniece and three grandnephews. Dr. Braswell is also survived by Roland and Mary Braswell of Goldsboro.
The family will receive friends at 1 p.m. Thursday until service time at the funeral home.
