David William Price, 64, passed away Sunday, Oct. 14, 2012, at Kitty Askins Hospice Center.

David was born in Mill Springs April 17, 1948, to the late Woodrow Wilson Price and Janet Clements Price.

For more than 30 years, David worked as a teacher and guidance counselor in the Wayne County School System.

We were blessed by the love of a truly honorable, compassionate and humble man, who touched the lives of many people, including students, teachers and families around Wayne County.

David lived a life of dedication to his family and friends and to his community.

The family will gather Thursday, Oct. 18, 2012, to receive family and friends from 7 to 9 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home.

David is survived by his wife of 36 years, Diane Duke Price; his daughter, Heather Price Manso and husband, Austin Manso, of Atlanta, Ga.; his son, Dr. Matthew Lane Price and wife, Dr. Cheryl Blake Price, of Urbana, Ill.; and his grandson, Henry Manso.

He is also survived by his brothers, Kenneth Harold Price and Jerry Dean Price, and a sister, Brenda Price Wilson.

In addition to his family, Mr. Price leaves behind his Sunrise Kiwanis brothers and sisters, the pre-dawn exercise/debate group and cycling partners at the Family Y and his best buddy, Otto.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given in David's memory to the Sunrise Kiwanis Club Foundation Scholarship Fund, P.O. Box 391, Goldsboro, N.C., 27533, or Kitty Askins Hospice Center, 107 Handley Park Court, Goldsboro, N.C., 27534.
