RALEIGH -- Robert Outlaw, 83, Raleigh, formerly of Goldsboro, passed away Sunday Oct. 14, 2012, at William M. Dunlap Center for Caring.

He was born Aug. 24, 1929, to the late Lewis James Outlaw and Sadie Rouse Outlaw.

Mr. Outlaw was a veteran of the United States Army, serving his country proudly during the Korean Conflict, and was a member of the 47th Regiment, North Carolina Troops, Camp 166, Sons of Confederate Veterans.

He was an avid stamp collector, and was a member of Confederate Stamp Alliance and the American Philatelic Society.

Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 20, 2012, at Wayne Memorial Park, 2925 U.S. 117 South, Dudley.

Mr. Outlaw is survived by his sister, Sadie Rouse Outlaw Neel of Goldsboro, and extended family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Marjorie Hailey Outlaw.
