CARY -- Valerie Denise Davis, 48 Cary, formerly of Goldsboro, died peacefully at Hospice of Wake County Oct. 8, 2012.

Valerie was full of life, humor and endless love.

Her journey with breast cancer began in August of 2009, and she defeated this tiresome battle once she was united with her Lord and savior Jesus Christ.

Her family would like to thank the wonderful care she received from the staff of Hospice of Wake County.

Family "meet and greet" will be held at Best Grove Missionary Baptist Church, 1065 Tommy's Road, Goldsboro, at 10:15 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 13, 2012.

Immediately following, a memorial celebration will be held at the same location beginning at 11 a.m.

Valerie was born Dec. 4, 1963, to the late Raymond and Emma Bell.

Those left to celebrate her life and cherish her memories are her daughter, Brittany Davis; son, Spenser Davis; grandson, Noah Cheeks; siblings, Helen Battle, Dorothy Buckrham, Napoleon Bell, Chester Bell, Dorothy Jean Smith, Jimmy Bell, Patricia Hamilton, Christine Black, Lynell King, Yvonne Sellars, Bonita White and Reginald Bell; and a lifetime best friend, Frederick Davis.

She also had a host of uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of Wake County.
